The Winter Carnival Committee is hard at work planning the 2012 event. The Chair – Linda Tilson (of Paddington’s) invites anyone interested in helping out – whether volunteering on the day or donating a prize or helping to plan a segment of this family-friendly event – to please join her and the Committee.

Events on Friday February 17 2012
Snow Sculpturing Businesses and Families are invited to join in the snow sculpture contest with a smaller snow box to work with – Various locations. Medieval Theme Or a Code of Arms representing your group. Contact Tracey at the River Bend for details or to register. 519-238-6919
No snow?! No Problem… Create Medieval-themed creations out of cardboard, plywood, chicken wire or whatever fixin’s you can find.

8pm: Amazing Magic Show of Phillip & Henry Productions

1pm: Youth Activities
Location: Grand Bend Public School
Youth are invited to come out to enjoy some indoor sports, crafts and much more for the afternoon. Events will take place between 1pm – 4pm
1-3pm: Archery Demonstration
Location: Paddington’s
Free event. Witness a demonstration of archery prowess and try out your Robin Hood skills!
1:15pm: Medieval Concert
Location: Grand Bend United Church.
Featuring Roberta Walker and company. Medieval Music for a mid-winter’s day. Donations welcome to support the artists’ hard work.
1pm: Tobogganing
Location: Oakwood
Grab your helmet, crazy carpets to enjoy so good ol’ fashion sleddin’. Hot Chocolate and a good time will be available.
1pm: Paddington’s Shuffleboard

2pm: Closing Ceremonies

Wrap up to celebrate the weekend with pictures, art work from the youth craft event and live music. Winnters of the sculptures, parade float and drink winners. Draw for Winter Carnival Lanyards – GRAND PRIZE $1000 cold hard cash. Purchase your lanyard $10 ticket.
