Denny’s Drive-In – Potato Boy for French Fry Preparation

Description: Early morning shift involving potato preparation for the day’s French fries – includes potato peeling with machinery, chopping and blanching of fries.  The position requires a person of physical strength as there is heavy lifting of 75 lb weight bags of potatoes. The work is extremely fast paced and repetitive in nature. Considered candidates must be dependable and able to work on their own initiative.

Glass In Motion – Grand Bend

Description: We are a gift shop and a studio selling and working with glass. We sell fused and flame worked jewellery, sun catchers, wind chimes, bowls, vases and plates. We instruct small groups of people to make a glass project in our Fun Shop!

We are looking for creative-minded students with an inclination towards fashion, teaching or visual art, who have excellent customer service skills and ability to work with children of all ages (our classes can include children through to seniors and multi-generational groups).

We provide all necessary training, You must be able to learn, take direction well and be able to apply your new knowledge and skills working in a team environment and independently.

Huron Country Playhouse – Front-of-House Manager

The House Manager efficiently manages the front-of-house areas for all theatre productions and events, including organizing and supervising the proper arrangement of staff, equipment, space, and supplies to meet the theatre’s needs for all functions.

Duties and Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to:

  • Ensure the efficient running of the Front-of-House so that all performances start on time.
  • Maintain responsibility for the Front-of-House at all times, including fire drill procedures, audience evacuation, seating capacity, and other alarms, and enact responsive policies as provided.
  • Implement best practices and policies for all Front-of-House activities and procedures as provided.
  • Train, supervise, and schedule ushering staff.
  • Establish positive and nurturing relationships with volunteers.
  • Provide assistance to the Facility Manager for receptions and events.
  • Provide superior customer service when faced with conflict resolution (patron complaints, seating issues, babes in arms, etc.)
  • Maintain all public areas, including washrooms, lobby, coat check, auditorium and event room.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
Term: Full-Time contract position June 1 – August 31, 2013
Location: Grand Bend
Other: Evening and weekend work is required, per theatre programming.

Property Manager – A Southcott Summer Cottages

Southcott Summer Cottages, located in the Southcott Pines subdivision of Grand Bend, is looking for a full time Property Manager.  This is a year-round position suitable for a retired person or stay-at-home parent seeking steady income. During July and August, the Property Manager will handle Saturday-to-Saturdy check-in/check-out. From September through to June, there is off-seaon work involving various duties. Southcott Summer Cottages has two (2) cottages. Pay is generous; serious inquiries please.

Quality Tree Service – Grounds People & Climbers/Arborists

We are looking for students and/or graduates to work with us in the Grand Bend Area and have two positions available with multiple opportunities each.

Grounds People

Assist climbers set-up at the ard and jobsite.  Brush dragging to chipper. Clear body wood. Rake and clean-up of jobsite. We provide hands-on training of equipment handling and maintenance.

Climbers/arborists

Training on-site.

  • Wages: $12/hour and negotiable depending on experience.
  • Training provided.
